Exhibition at the Blancs Manteaux

Exhibition at the Blancs Manteaux”
This year I started exhibiting my work on the advice of Mme Sonja Gäne, head of the contemporary furniture department at Christie’s in Paris. Previously, my work had been done on a confidential, tailor-made basis.

For my first exhibition, I chose the “Blancs Manteaux” space, which was staging a collective exhibition entitled “Expo Design”, in July 2007. I presented a new line in steel and lacquered wood entitled “Formula One”, with woods lacquered in bright colours symbolizing legendary Formula One racing car stables.

I designed a complete set of special furnishings for trade fair exhibition purposes, for the herbalist’s emporium at the “Palais Royal”, the challenge being to reduce the weight of the wooden display units and thereby to shorten as much as possible the usual four hours of installation time at each trade fair! The result: elegant, folding, ultra lightweight, aluminium structures which can be set up in 30 min at most and which thus increase the quantity of products on display.
